Out of the snow and into the sun: the St. Louis Cardinals are ready to report to Spring Training in Jupiter, Fla. The city plays home to 55,000 people and is located in Palm Beach County – just on the northern edge of metropolis Miami. With plenty of hot spots in the area, the Square Grouper Tiki Bar headlines as the most popular and exclusive outdoor bar in Jupiter. If you can’t catch the players there, head over to Roger Dean Stadium, temporary home of the Cardinals and Marlins. STL pitchers and catchers reported on Feb. 13, and the position players followed suit and officially report today.
The Cardinals have trained at Roger Dean since the year that it was opened in 1998. The 110-acre, $28 million facility is the only stadium to host two Major League clubs in the league. Apart from sharing the main field, each team has access to their own practice fields, batting cages, pitching mounds and state-of-the-art conditioning facilities. Surrounded by palm trees, this gorgeous venue sits 6,871 people, featuring two luxury sky-box suites and a 30+ person party deck in right field. It is an ideal home for the Cardinals, who have been battling the snow since their World Series loss in November. We’ve arrived to the most anticipated date of the off-season – spring training begins.
